Ryan,
Are you planning on going? If I was still in SA, I'd definitely be there. I may give Tom Wintermute a call tonight to remind him of the event as well. I had a lot of fun there last year. Let us know how it goes if you do go.

Hey Josh
Yes I am going to go. If you do call Tom, give him my phone number if you would like. I will take pictures and some audio.

Ryan and I showed up around 1 and he was the only one there with horns. There was a good amount of people though taking pictures and videos though. Local police showed up and warned that UPRR is sending an investigator out? Honked a couple horns and left.

UPRR sending out an investigator? For what? What did Tommy have to say about that? He usually has permission for everything during the event to include the horn demos. One thing Tom Wintermute reminded me of the other day was that Flatonia recently became a quiet zone on the RR. I remembered reading that a ways back, but I had forgotten. I wonder if that had anything to do with UPRR coming out to investigate.

Looks like you guys will have to take advantage of that location on the Brazos River that Ryan told me about. Hopefully that will go better for getting some horns blown.

The cops said something about earlier in the day, a few conductors reported kids climbing on some of the parked cars further down from where we were. Tommy tried to make it clear it was no one involved with us. No mention of a quiet zone though, maybe from 10pm-6am? The trains were using their horns @ crossings.

The Brazos spot is perfect, secluded and 15 min from my house. Not 2 hours haha.

There was also some other guy out there talking about arrests and whatnot.
I was standing at the edge of a marked public road about 25-30 foot from the tracks, he drives up next to me and starts talking about "You can't stand there, you're going to get reported and arrested etc etc" I looked down, I was on paved asphalt and said "You mean I can't stand on the road? K." He left.
